Beechwood Blaster is it!

I can't say enough. I arrived super early to the Beechwood Blaster. I knew a few guys, but the early morning masses were all new to me. The boys at Big Ring Racing greeted me as one of their own. I was able to help with with the big top tent as well as shoot it with Big Earl:

A true hard core. Flats n flats all out. There was not one endurance race that I did not see him at all year.

Shotgun start. WORS, I dare you. Real Fall weather. To top off the early morning festivities we were greeted by a old old old war fighter plane just as we heard a "Good Morning!". So low it gave the tree line a buzz cut. The thing was blowing smoke! Goose bumps.

Ronsta decided to go back-to-back as well as throw a second down at some Sunday CX. This guy was holding a 1minute lead at the time. Smiles all around.

Well, next year is going to be Friday and Saturday night camping at the Beechwood Blaster. I now know how MTBing is supposed to be. Time bonuses for every 8oz downed on course. Pot luck. Beer. Cider. Fire. Peeps. Bikes. Dogs w/out leashes.

I almost forgot the course. 5ish miles of single track, 1mile double, 600ft gain, 50minute laps.
Jay's land. Awesome guy. Not many guys does what he does for the sport!

Aris Rocked it!

A good workout came my way in the AM. Roger that. JW shows up with a busted bike. The Trek boys came to the rescue and JW was stuck at the back of his wave. Worked hard for a 6th and was forced in to a over-the-bar-face-plant 30yards from the finish. A few goof balls decided to ride in to the middle of the course and stop.

JW came up, freaked, squeezed and flipped. He's ok. Cit Youth - 6th Overall.

Theo was ready for a 2nd, until he broke his chain on the final lap. Theeeeere's Buckwheat!

John G started crazy strong. 4th overall Sport after lap one. The cramps snuck up on him on the "Equalizer"(you ride up - you get $5)(He rode up - he cramped) - 6th age, 41st overall.

Chris Tamborino bring'n his guns to the "We don't need no Stinking Mountains" show. 3rdish COMP race ever - 8th age, 27th Overall.
ARIS - 18th OVERALL He saves his best for last. (COMP age - 1st) Yup, socks-n-sandles.

On the ride home I was reminded of exactly where my mind should be.

Sheboygan's course is fly! Great fun. Oz.'s of video. A case of the Mondays has already begun.

WORS Finale turns to CX

Mix my duties of EXPO Racing's team promoter with my new found love of CXing= I have opted out of WORS #12. I will head up to the race SUPER early to do 1-2laps CXstyle before the day's festivities begin. Change clothes, set up the portable stereo and shoot the last bits of video I am in need of. Pics too of course.

My Friday turned in to CX practice. I spent a good 20minutes plotting the perfect course just two blocks from my house. I found 2 perfectly cut pieces of plywood in the garage and found the bestest run-up which I was able to integrate into the course. One set of barriers, One nice run-up, off camber grass riding, leg burner climb, rough bike path and pavement...great CX practice. I literally felt the same as if I payed to do it. It was great!

To top it all off, I got Trixie on a CX bike. She even tried barriers...with a smile!

Ronsta, Thank you so much for fixing Theo's Camo wheel. EXPO is grateful for your generosity.

I Need More

A One Night Stand

My friend Mary, just shot me an email. I might have to cut a little notch in the bottom drawer for the top tube. It could be done.

I am also doing some research on Gumby. This one will be tough.

My riding ever since school started has been pretty slim. I am still putting in plenty of miles @ high intensity while commuting. I just need to get out and "train" before my day starts and/or at the day's end. The mental issue is, my days end at 6:30, 8:30, 6:30 and 8. MTWTH. Fridays are off and weekends are racing time. If I can do late nights for school, I can do late nights for cycling!

Lets do it!
